Fundraising quiz raises vital funds towards ongoing diabetes research.

DRWF continued its 25th anniversary celebrations on World Diabetes Day (14th November) with a fundraising quiz night.

The event, organised in partnership with Zurich Community Trust, was attended by DRWF staff, volunteers, supporters and friends, pitting their wits to answer some tough brain teasers.

Money raised on the night from quiz teams and a tombola was match-funded by Zurich, totalling £1,655.

In addition to the quiz the event featured live music and was attended by 72 people and held at the Langstone Quays Hotel, Hayling Island, Hampshire – a location very close to the original charity HQ offices.

Tim Green, Community Fundraiser at DRWF, said: “Although the questions were challenging at times, it was a fantastic night, and we raised an amazing amount of money. It was great to continue our partnership with Zurich Community Trust, raising awareness and funds to support DRWF, while enjoying an entertaining evening.

“The fundraising quiz was a lovely way to celebrate the 25th anniversary of DRWF and World Diabetes Day with so many friends and supporters of the charity, living both with and without diabetes.”

World Diabetes Day is held every year on 14th November, the birthday of Sir Frederick Banting, who co-discovered insulin along with Charles Best more than 100 years ago.
